Polls are now closed in California and Washington, as well as the rest of Oregon and the northern Idaho Panhandle. The only states where voting is still ongoing are Alaska and Hawaii.

NH-Sen, RI-02: Alright! The AP has called it for Hassan, too! It also called RI-02 for Democrat Seth Magaziner. Local outlet WPRI had called a Magaziner win much earlier in the night, but this confirmation is good to see. This was a tough Dem hold thanks to uncommonly good GOP recruitment.

OH-Sen: Not a surprise, but NBC has called this race for Peter Thiel sycophant J.D. Vance. Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan kept this race shockingly competitive for quite some time and even forced the top GOP super PAC to dump tens of millions of dollars into the contest to save Vance. It may be cold comfort for Ryan, but diverting Republican resources in this way might have helped Democrats in other states. We’ll see.

NH-Sen: Just like that, ABC has called this one, too. You’ll forgive us for being cautious, but we’d really love to see what the Associated Press, which tends to be the most circumspect race-caller, has to say.

NH-Sen: This would be immense if it holds up: NBC is calling New Hampshire’s Senate race for Democratic incumbent Maggie Hassan. NH is a notoriously fickle and swingy state, and Hassan’s 2016 margin was incredibly small—just 1,000 votes. So we’re going to wait until we get confirmation from other media outlets before we put this one in the books.

KS-03: This one is immensely satisfying. NBC has called this race for Democratic Rep. Sharice Davids, who beats Republican Amanda Adkins in a rematch. It’s a particularly big win because after 2020, Republicans deliberately gerrymandered this district to target Davids. She showed them.

PA-12: Well, here’s a good one: Democrat Summer Lee will become the first Black woman to represent Pennsylvania in Congress, per CNN. Republicans actually nominated a guy named Mike Doyle… who just so happens to share a name with the retiring Democratic congressman who repped this district, Mike Doyle. This was a Biden +20 district, so it should always have been safe, but that weird wrinkle had caused some consternation. Not to worry, it seems.

NM-Gov, IA-Sen: NBC has called New Mexico for Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham. This is one of those races where Republicans were actually pleased with their candidate, former TV weatherman Mark Ronchetti, and thought they could make a play but fell short. NBC has also called Iowa’s Senate race for Republican incumbent Chuck Grassley. Not a surprise, though.
